Biography
Peter is currently completing a M.S. in Applied Exercise Science and Performance at Western Colorado University while finishing his first book, the biography of legendary Himalayan climber Danuru Sherpa. A former Nuclear Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy with seven overseas deployments, Peter is an avid adventurer and endurance athlete. In 2023 he embarked on an 18-month, 15,000 mile solo bicycle ride through four continents from Mongolia to Spain, then Miami to Maryland as Big Agnes's Bob Swanson Memorial Grant Winner. Peter completed the world's toughest unsupported ultra bikepacking race, Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan, and is the holder of two 100-mile run FKTs in Japan. More recently, Peter led a world record 3000-mile transcontinental run across the US called the Old Glory Ultra Relay as the team's Crew Chief in May 2025, raising over $1 million for military veteran health and wellness programs. Peter holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the Colorado School of Mines and is a DoD certified Nuclear Engineering Officer.
