BARBARA SCHIFFMAN was a Hollywood script consultant and entertainment career coach for over 35 years before "retiring" to Northwest Montana to live near her grandkids with her author-husband Glenn Schiffman.   She's published personal development books, anthology chapters and articles about “living, loving and expressing your life story.” Her books "The Akashic Muse," "Your Akashic Records Coloring Journal" and "Living in Balance for Boomers" are available on Amazon in print and ebook editions.   Her self-discovery program "Ready~Set~Next" (about moving forward by embracing your past and empowering your future using NLP meditation tools and journaling processes) is available in print or ebook at Amazon, Smashwords.com and other online bookstores.   Barbara has also guided writers and others to overcome the fear of public speaking as a clinical hypnotherapist and guided imagery master facilitator. She co-founded two Toastmasters specialty clubs designed to help all types of writers practice skills for confidently speaking about their work and themselves.   In Spring 2023, Barbara and Glenn co-taught a 2-month Continuing Ed course at Flathead Valley College about crafting and presenting "true personal essays" to live audiences. They created and now curate/co-host Flathead Story Concerts (www.FlatheadStoryConcerts.com) to help other local authors and storytellers share their memorable personal essay stories (ala The Moth) live in Kalispell MT. They also teach occasional spoken word storycrafting workshops throughout Flathead Valley.   In 2019-202, Barbara also created and coordinated the Montana Screenwriting Competition (sponsored by the Bigfork Independent Film Festival) to encourage and honor Montana screenwriters. ###
