Dear Group,

The conference is behind us. I hope attendees found it energizing like most of the people I have talked with. Other than the food glitch, things went smoothly. We had extraordinary speakers and have already confirmed a top NY agent and talented author/editor for the 2020 conference scheduled for September 19^th and 20^th. That will be our 30^th annual event, so we are hoping to make it even better than this year’s.

If you have requests for genre presenters or top speakers you have heard and would like the committee to consider, please submit the information to me. If you included suggestions on your conference survey, they will be included.

There will be changes on the website in the near future. The updated slide show of author bios and their books will be a feature. If you have a new book, updated bio or correction, please email me with the information. Only members will be featured in the slideshow. I need high quality jpg images of both your book cover and author photo, with a short bio, and short description of the book (like a back-cover overview) in a Word document. If you want to participate and have not updated your dues, you can pay them online or at a meeting.

Note: Memberships are $25 annually January – December 31. If you pay now, it would be due again in January.

If you have a book in your head urging you to get started, make this your year to get the first draft completed. Kathy Dunnehoff is teaching a “NaNoWriMo” course again this year at FVCC. It is such a hit, the course has already filled but you can participate in National Novel Writing Month online at: https://www.nanowrimo.org/ You will find detailed information for the fun approach to completing a first draft in the 30 days of November.
