President's Letter 4/15/2023

Dear Authors of the Flathead members,

Conference registration is now open for current members at

Thankyou for your active membership in Authors of the Flathead. One of the perks of
membership is advance registration for the Flathead River Writers Conference,
the special Friday workshop, and the opportunity to request a 15-minute visit
with an agent.

We have two agents this year:

1)Julie Stevenson with Massie & McQuilkin, who specializes in memoir, literary fiction, and some YA. She is Jon Tester's and Ryan Busse's agent, along with many other writers. Becoming a friend with her on FB is wise to
follow all she does.

2)Zach Honey with Fine Print Literary who specializes in mystery (including cozy), suspense, and thriller.

Both of these are companies with multiple agents, so if you visit with Julie or Zach and they say your work is not quite right for them, ask who else in the agency handles your genre of writing. Julie is also widely connected in the business and knows many agents from other companies.

If you are accepted for an agent visit, you will receive confirmation in the next few days. Additional instructions regarding format and other details will be sent after the registration period is over, which should be around May 15.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
