April 27, 2021
Spring Greetings after the cold winter and year of COVID-19 separation. I hope you have been able to accomplish the writing goals you set for yourselves. If not, get back on track and energized by joining the group more often on our weekly Thursday meetings online. Zoom links and events are on the Schedule page of the website. If you haven’t surveyed the Resources menu, take a look at it. All of Dennis Foley’s Power Point presentations are there along with many references for authors including how to write synopses, copywriting and editing information.
If you have a new book that isn’t listed, please let me know and email a short overview with a jpg image of the book cover. This is one advantage of being a paid member of our group.

STUDENT WRITING CONTEST
The deadline for submissions is May 7th. I will receive all of the submissions from Tamara Sundberg the school contest coordinator within a couple days following that date and will send them to each of the judges. We have seven judges who will judge all manuscripts and get them back to me for processing and tabulation. For each category, Short Story and Poetry, there will be first, second and third monetary prizes. Checks will be forwarded before the 17th, so judges will need to read and score the manuscripts within a few days of receipt. I appreciate all the help on this event. The first-place winners also receive free attendance at the Flathead River Writers Conference in October.
